Suffern High School's DECA Students

A great day for Suffern High School's DECA students who competed in the Regional competition against 10 other Districts in Rockland & Westchester. Twenty students took home medals for their events and have the chance to chance to move on to the state competition in Rochester in March.


Individual events: 1st - Leonardo Martinez, Apparel and Accessories Marketing; 4th - Ethan Holand, Business Finance; 4th - Charlie Poulos, Entrepreneurship Series; 4th - Evan Xin, Hotel & Lodging Mgmt Series; 3rd - Casey Mirmelstein, Restaurant & Food Services Management; 1st - Madie Nicpon, Sports & Entertainment Marketing 3rd - Noah Holand, Principles of Business Mgmt & Administration; 3rd - Owen Park, Principles of Finance


Team Events: 3rd - Deepak Persaud & Andrei Stancescu, Buying & Merchandising Team Decision Making Event; 3rd - Michael Ryan & Harrison Gay, Entrepreneurship team Decision Making; 2nd - Justin Jacob & Jason Grady, Financial Services Team Decision Making Event; 3rd - Sophie Park & Emily Ullman, Marketing Management Team Decision Making Event; 2nd - Adam Paroff & Brian Paroff, Sports & Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making Event; 2nd - Samantha Kaner & Allyson Schnell, Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making Event

DECA Inc.(Distributive Education Clubs of America) is a national organization of marketing and management studies. It teaches leadership development, civic consciousness, social intelligence, and vocational understanding through competitions at the local, state and national levels.


When not competing, the club meets weekly at SHS to go over business ideas, vocabulary, fundraise for their competitions and study past situations so that they’ll be prepared to win the next round.
